sprouter – your connection to other entrepreneurs

We all know that working alone isn’t nearly as condusive as working productively in a group setting (that’s why we’re fans of coworking!), and by that logic it makes little sense for entrepreneurs to navigate the online world alone.

Enter Sprouter. Sprouter is a social network for entrepreneurs that utilises a status update feature that you’re likely already familiar with from using Twitter and Facebook, complete with custom tags and topics, so that entrepreneurs can network, share ideas, and collaborate. It starts by asking “What are you working on?”.

“If Facebook is a place where users connect with people they already know, LinkedIn is an online rolodex and Twitter is a place to build a brand while engaging in ongoing conversations, Sprouter is designed to filter out the noise of the rest of the social-networking world to allow entrepreneurs a dedicated space to get help with what’s causing them consternation.”

There is also an events listing that help to connect entrepreneurs in an offline setting, and a very helpful blog that tackles the hard topics of entrepreneurship.

Sprouter has launched publically today. It has been in private beta for 3mos to tweak it for public launch. You can read more about Sprouter, its founder Sarah Prevette, and the efforts to prepare Sprouter for launch in today’s Financial Post.

You can also find plenty of coworking folks on Sprouter, including Camaraderie’s own
Rachel. Pop on over and say hello and check out what Sprouter has to offer you.

So, what are you working on?
