In Dec 2009 an exciting announcement was made:
NXNE, in association with FITC Events, is proud to announce the launch of NXNE Interactive (NXNEi). Bridging the gap between independent creators and interactivity, NXNEi will explore technology and social media through presentations, panels, and more.
Many contenders in the interactive industries have made the annual trek to Austin for SXSWi, and I’m betting a good portion are now thankful there will be a local event in the same vein.
And so, we here at Camaraderie would like to host a panel discussion, and are asking for your support to vote our panel discussion to the consideration stage. After that, it’s in the hands of the conference organisers.
Our panel topic is Digital Nomads: will work for personal interaction, and is described as:
Digital Nomads, Laptop Warriors, Business Globetrotters, SOHO Survivors, Telecommuters – it doesn’t matter what you call us, those of us that don’t have an existing workplace environment miss out on the personal interaction that the watercooler can provide.
Many migrate to cafes, pubs, or libraries that offer free wifi, some find coworking facilities, some bear the expense of opening an office for their startup, but few are happy to stay at home. Most people need that personal interaction with others at some point in their day. It’s part of human nature.
This panel will include:
* an owner of a coworking facility
* a café owner
* someone who advocates opening their own office for a startup
* someone who prefers to work from home
* a workplace health promotion expertTogether we will discuss the benefits and pitfalls of working in these environments.
Please register for your chance to vote on panels, and be sure to give us a vote – or two or three – and see you Jun 15-16, 2010!
