not your typical entrepreneurs

A great introductory article to coworking in Inc magazine quotes Todd Sundsted, author of I’m Outta Here! How co-working is making the office obsolete. saying, “People who start businesses from co-working spaces are not your completely traditional entrepreneurs. They’ve got energy, they hook up with people, they start to collaborate, and start putting things together.”

And it is true. The people I’ve met through the coworking community at large really are a little different, which makes sense. They look at their situation and make a change. Coworking doing something slightly different that isn’t within the average person’s lexicon, and coworkers have access to so much more than what the average work-at-home freelancer or entrepreneur has, much like Seth Godin’s analogy of Firefox users and college students.

I’m looking forward to fostering the Toronto community and watching the collaboration happen naturally between members. Today we get the keys to the space, and we open Feb 15. So very excited!
